Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) X-Waiver Training
In October 2018, NCWR received a three-year federal grant to increase the number of physicians in Oklahoma who can administer Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). MOUD is an evidence-based, highly effective treatment that combines medication with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a whole-patient approach to addiction treatment. The purpose of this is to better prepare physicians and medical students to identify individuals with opioid use disorders and to engage those patients in medication for their opioid use disorder. This program allows NCWR to provide MOUD X-Waiver Training to all OSU second-year resident physicians, as well as practicing physicians. Continuing medical education (CME) is available and the trainings are free.
